Sunshine and Rainbow Rooms

Hi I am Very excited today to see the sunshine!!! We have had sooo much rain this week. When I came home from work this morning, I had rainbows all over my kitchen. I have missed seeing them. You can create a rainbow room very easily. Just hang a crystal in any direct sunlight and let the rainbows dance on whatever they come in contact with!! Check out my website for a great selection of prisms at low prices!

back to school

Hi I like many are back to school or shall I say back to driving kids to school! I have a new bus route that is taking some time getting used to. I also start teaching community education classes again in October. This fall, I am only scheduled to teach in West Seneca school district. I need to have time to work on other things. I have been doing more sewing lately. My latest was a bag for my husband's John Jamses Audubon coustume! He started offering some programs where he portrays Audubon talking about nature and art. I am going to try to get some items together for a few craft shows coming up this fall. Today is chilly and gloomy so I am going to make some soup and start working.

Sugar Eggs in 5 differerent sizes

We have a long weekend off from work. It gives me time to get ready for Easter. It may seem a long way off,but time will pass quickly once I really get into the swing of panoramic sugar egg construction. I have a lot of the sugar "shells" made. I make 5 sizes of sugar eggs. The smallest is a miniature egg that I have been making for about 3 years. The next size up is the small egg. The medium size egg is the one I make the most of. In the class I teach on making sugar eggs this is the size I use. The next size up has an embossed lattice design. The largest egg that I have made has a faceted crystal design. Panoramic Sugar eggs started in the Victorian era. They used a combination of paper cutouts and oranamental frosting. That is how I design mine. I really take my time on each diorama inside. I have believed since I was a child, that is where the real magic is.

Creative Spirit

Hi I am new to this and just want to write a quick note tonight. I was raised by a very creative mother. She was always working on something and she passed that trait onto me. I enjoy being creative, but sometimes I get carried away. I just had an immage pop into my mind from when my kids were younger. I don't know what the inspiration was but as a treat for my daughter's 1st grade class, I made doughnut hole people.Strange but true. They had pretzel arms and legs and doughnut heads and bodies. I even made wigs out of licorice! The teachers and kids loved them so I guess it was worth it. Well, I have to go and get things ready for tomorrow.
